The Customs Department would like to inform all economic operators that, as part of our ongoing digital transformation, we are phasing out traditional payment methods in favour of the Online Payment and Internet Banking Systems. Please take note of the following important dates and changes:

Phase 1: End of Cash Payments

• Effective Date: 16th June 2025
• Cash payments will no longer be accepted at the Customs Cash Office or through any channel.

Phase 2: Closure of the Physical Cash Office

• Effective Date: 1st October 2025
• The Cash Office at the Luqa Airfreight facility will be permanently closed.
• After this date, cheques will no longer be accepted under any circumstance.
