Finance & Administration
The Finance and Administration at MTCA plays a crucial role in delivering essential support services that ensure the efficient functioning of MTCA’s daily operations. Acting as one of the pillars of Corporate Services & IT Department, it aims to empower other departments and directorates to concentrate on their technical functions by effectively managing resources, streamlining processes, and facilitating clear communication. This strategic support not only enhances collaboration across teams but also fosters an environment where MTCA can achieve shared goals, values and maintain high standards of service across the whole organisation.
Human Resources
MTCA’s HR function is designed to support MTCA’s goals by engaging, developing, and retaining employees while ensuring compliance with labour laws and fostering a positive workplace environment.
Beyond these core responsibilities, The HR team plays a strategic role in shaping a culture of continuous learning and promoting employee well-being. The team is committed to driving performance through feedback and development initiatives and fostering an inclusive and high-performing workplace. By prioritising employee relations, well-being, and professional growth, HR ensures that MTCA remains a dynamic and supportive organization where people can thrive and contribute to long-term success.
Revenue Management
The Revenue Management Directorate is mainly responsible for the daily reconciliation and accounting of all payments. This is done irrespective of the method of payment with respect to direct and indirect taxes, which include Income Tax, Social Security Contributions, Maternity Leave Contributions, VAT, Capital Transfer Duty, Environmental Contributions and Customs’ duties amongst others, ensuring the correctness and timely accounting thereof in the centralised Government accounting system. The Directorate also ensures the timely transfer of funds to the Government’s main account so that funds are available for use by the Government.
This Directorate is also responsible for the verification, reconciliation and the prompt re-issue of approved Income Tax and VAT refunds to individuals and businesses.
IT Support
The MTCA IT Support function plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of IT-related functions across the Administration. Its responsibilities include providing comprehensive support to all MTCA staff for any IT-related matters. This support encompasses granting permissions and roles for MTCA IT systems and facilitating access also to external stakeholders’ systems where applicable.
In addition to access management, the IT Support function oversees the maintenance, development, and optimisation of all MTCA IT systems, web portals, and online platforms. This ensures these systems remain reliable, secure, and aligned with organisational objectives. The function is also entrusted with safeguarding and managing MTCA’s data assets. It develops and maintains dashboards tailored for internal use, empowering top management with real-time, actionable insights. These dashboards provide a clear and consolidated view of revenue streams and other critical organisational metrics, supporting informed decision-making and strategic planning. By serving as one of the pillars of MTCA’s IT infrastructure, the IT Support function contributes significantly to the Administration operational efficiency and its ability to meet its strategic goals.
