The Customs Department would like to remind all Economic Operators that in line with the Customs Business Strategy (2020 – 2022), the upload of all supporting documents in the National Import and Export Systems (NIES) for full load and groupage consignments transported by sea is now mandatory.   In essence, this means that, all invoices, packing lists, bill of lading, notice of arrival, certificates and other documents related to the particular consignment need to be uploaded to the NIES.  This, primarily, facilitated the process where declarations selected for documentary checks (yellow) are concerned. 

 

Unfortunately, despite several reminders, not all Economic Operators are adhering to these instructions.  Failing to abide, the Department cannot guarantee fast service and would not be held responsible for any delay.
