Payers are being notified regarding an adjustment by the Department of Social Security on the Social Security contributions rates for the basis year 2020. This adjustment relates to the basic salary threshold of category 'D' for those persons born up to 31 December 1961.  

As a result of this adjustment the revised rates as from 1 January 2020 for this category of persons is as shown in table below:

Payers who have already paid the January 2020 Monthly Payment Advice (FS5) may adjust and increase the payment in February’s FS5 without incurring any penalties.
